Tim Farron delivered a speech on Thursday evening to around 750 supporters at the Islington Assembly Halls. The speech called for the Lib Dem fightback to begin in earnest.

The event started at around 7.00 p.m. and was introduced by the party president Sal Brinton. Norman Lamb gave a short speech calling on the party to rally behind the new leader.

Tim gave a speech of around 30 minutes which covered a wide range of issues. The new leader explained his background and where he has come from. There was a strong emphasis on winning elections as without actually winning no change could take place.
